STOP!

It just seems to sneak up on me. We go along with our day to day life and then one day something will happen and I'll realize just how fast their childhood is passing. Maybe it's just been one of those weeks. Yesterday Braden lost his first tooth. Of course he was thrilled, and I was too... sort of. I am thrilled that he is growing into such a big boy. I am thrilled that he is smart and handsome with a gentle demeanor, but I know that with each tooth he loses he is one step closer to the man he will one day become and one more step further away from me. I suppose I shouldn't look at it that way. In fact, he was pretty cute and decided that he needed to write the Tooth Fairy a note. It reads:

"Dear Tooth Fairy,
I want to keep my loose tooth because
it is my first one.
Thank you,
Braden"

Luckily the tooth fairy was understanding and let him keep the tooth and gave him $3! Very exciting...

I'm sure it was the combination of the tooth, kindergarten looming just around the corner and then to top it all off we took Brooke's crib and changing table down. She's officially out of her nursery and in a big girl room.

No wonder I'm a wreck! It's been a week full of milestones... great. big. milestones. Somedays I just want to soak it all up and slow the whole process down..

Isn't it amazing how the joys of parenting are also tinged with the dread of losing that very special process as your children grow up. I'm right there with you, hon.

Love, Mom
